At It’s a Paw Thang, we know that our furry friends are family! We strive to ensure that you and your pet have an excellent experience, and exceptional service!

Our promise to you is to provide a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for you and your pet. We provide high quality, express-style professional grooming services, staff washes, and self-serve bathing stations in our establishment. It’s a Paw Thang staff work diligently to maintain a clean, relaxing, cage-free environment for you and your four-legged family members!

To ensure quality service, we ask that you review our policies below:

Humanity over Vanity. If one of our professionally trained groomers determines that your pet would benefit from a short haircut/shave down, we reserve the right to refuse harsher methods of de-matting, or specialty cuts. This also includes comfort grooms for elderly or disabled pets. We will make every attempt to notify you prior to changing any groom that was discussed.

Safety comes first – for your pet, and our staff! If deemed necessary, we may utilize safe forms of restraint, such as groomers helpers, belly bands, and muzzles. If restraints fail to ensure the safety of your pet and/or staff, we may decide to terminate the groom. This will be a combined decision of the groomer and management. If your pet requires multiple people to complete a groom, there may be a special handling fee added to the groom.

Your pet deserves kindness and care! We appreciate being given the opportunity to provide our services to your pet! Your pet may be wiggly, nervous, excitable, or curious. In other words, they may be moving for the entirety of the grooming process! We do our best to handle every pet with love and care. We will always notify you if an incident occurs.

We love to see your pet happy and healthy! Grooming is very hands-on, and sometimes our groomers may discover hidden concerns. These may include things such as skin irritations, lumps, bumps, foreign objects, or other pre-existing issues that may have gone unnoticed. While we cannot diagnose any issues, we believe it is important to disclose anything we find with you. We will share any previous experience we have, but it will be at your discretion if you want to seek veterinarian care.

Cancellation Notice – An appointment confirmation will be sent to you via text message 24 hours before your appointment. We ask that a response to this text message be given the same day it was received. This gives us time to make any scheduling adjustments as needed. We understand emergencies happen and while last-minute cancellations are a part of life, we appreciate communication regarding such. No call no show appointments may be subject to a cancellation fee. Clients with a history of no-shows or cancelling at the last minute will be required to prepay for their appointments.

Late Arrival Policy – Our groomers work hard to provide timely and efficient services to all clients, so we ask that you make your appointment as close to on time as possible. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, your groomer may only be able to provide a bath and limited trimming on your dog. Appointments later than 15 minutes are subject to rescheduling or cancellation.

Late Pickup Policy – It’s a Paw Thang staff prides ourselves on our quality and express-style service. Once your pet’s grooming is complete, we will contact you. We do emphasize the importance of a timely pickup and ask that arrangements be made to have your pet picked up within 30 minutes of their appointment’s completion. If your pet has not been picked up after one hour of notification, you may be subject to an extended hour fee of $20 per hour.

Potty Policy – Please make your best effort to potty your pets before your appointment. There are grassy areas outside of the establishment, and we are happy to provide any sanitary supplies to aid in cleanup – just ask!

Leash Policy – For the safety and comfort of all clients, staff, and other pets, please have your pet on a leash, in a carrier, or held in your arms when entering or exiting the salon. If you forget your leash, pop in and ask for a loaner! The parking lot and 407 can get busy and we would be devastated if something happened to your pet.

Vaccine Policy – It is our policy to allow veterinary professionals to determine which vaccines your pet needs. It is up to you and your veterinarian to provide a safe level of protection for your dog. However, for the safety of our staff and clients, we do require that rabies and bordetella vaccines are up to date.

Medical Policy – For the health and safety of your pet, we CAN NOT and WILL NOT accept pets that are pregnant or recovering from pregnancy (i.e. bleeding, nursing), in heat, recovering from a recent surgery, have stitches or open wounds, parasites, infections, or any other condition that may need veterinary clearance before receiving a bath or full groom.

Payments – We accept all credit or debit cards, apple pay, or cash. Checks are not accepted. Payment is due at the time of services rendered unless prior arrangements have been made.

Liability Release:

  • IT’S A PAW THANG, LLC will be held harmless from damage, loss or claims arising from any known or unknown preexisting condition of my pet(s). The terms: special services or handling shall include but not limited to veterinary emergency services in the event the client is not available. Client authorizes IT’S A PAW THANG, LLC to act as his or her agent in the event of emergency and agrees to pay all costs incurred. Any/all damages or claims shall include but not limited to advanced age, neurosis, illness, previous injury, skin or coat conditions, or any other medical conditions.
  • Neglect of the pet(s) coat can cause problems after grooming such as clipper rash/brush irritation, nicks or scrapes. IT’S A PAW THANG, LLC is not responsible for hematoma of the ear, or any other situation related to improper coat care the pet(s) may have not being exposed to regular grooming.
  • Accidents Happen. If your pet is injured while in the care of IT’S A PAW THANG, LLC we will notify you immediately. If it is found to be the fault of the owner(s) or employee(s) of IT’S A PAW THANG, LLC, we will pay for all medical expenses specific to that injury only.
  • Owners assume all risks when using the self-service tubs and equipment. Only equipment we provide may be used in the self-wash stations excluding owners shampoo.
  • The owners and employees of IT’S A PAW THANG, LLC make their best effort to interpret the grooming instructions given. All grooming is guaranteed for 72 hours. Anything that is brought to our attention, within reason, will be fixed free of charge. After 72 hours, any work done will be charged an additional groom price.

IT’S A PAW THANG, LLC reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
