About Penny
I grew up in a small town in West Texas and moved to DFW in 1990. I spent 30 years working in the corporate world; majority of the time in IT Management. In August 2020, the wind changed, Covid-19 hit, and I was presented with an unexpected career change.
I knew of a business I wanted to open for almost 10 years but was always too scared and doubted myself. One Sunday during church, I felt as the Pastor was speaking directly to me. The message was about pushing fear aside and moving forward boldly, holding onto hope, fighting with faith, and to remember the Lord is in the fight. Those words pushed me to follow my heart and after some serious consideration and prayers, I took my love and passion for dogs to the next level. I started researching locations, cost of equipment, learning about the industry, and speaking with other small business owners. My next step was to create a business plan, put together a profit and loss statement for a year. In October, I made one of the biggest decisions I have ever made and signed a letter of intent with Office Equity Solutions to rent a space in Northlake.
My love for dogs and the desire to help them in any way drove my passion for this business. My goal is to provide the greatest experience you as a pet owner will ever have while washing your pet and giving your pet the most comfortable “spa” day ever. I also want to educate customers on the tools, techniques, and regular routine care to help keep their pets healthy and happy for a long time.
I would like to say Thank You to my family for supporting me, Tiffany Stafford, owner of Blissful Bark in Flower Mound, and Bill Oglesby, owner of JC Burgers in Plano, McKinney, and Allen. Tiffany has provided guidance to me and has been an inspiration, mentor, and friend for years. I met Bill at Dr. Pepper Snapple, his experience as a small business owner directed me through the process. He was also my Broker and walked me through the leasing process and stood beside me step by step as I made this decision.
